Description: Tomatillo is a bright green, tomato like berry with a papery husk known as the lantern that easily peels away before use. Tomatillos have a firm texture & a sweet & tangy flavour with vibrant citrus notes. Toma Verde tomatillos produce large fruit measuring 2 to 3 inches across & ripens to yellow & then purple. Tomatillos are typically used when green but can be eaten when they are ripe as well.

Soil Type: Moderately fertile soil with a pH of 6.0 - 6.8. Excess nitrogen can cause root rot & prevent the fruit from ripening.
Growing Conditions: Full sun & trellis. At least two plants are necessary for successful pollination.
