Description: Black Oil Sunflowers are grown for seed or oil production. The large yellow flower adds beauty to any garden & attracts many beneficial insects including bees to the garden. Sunflowers are a great crop cover & improves soil quality.

Harvest: To harvest seeds, allow flowers to dry on stalk until the back of the flower heads turns brown & then remove seeds. Alternatively, cut the flower head with 4" of stem when the outer seeds are mature. Hang the flower heads to dry & remove seeds once dried.

 

Succession Planting: For a continuous supply, sow new seeds every 2 weeks
