Description: Cress is similar to watercress but it is much easier to grow as it grows in soil. It is a slow germinator but, once established it is very easy to grow. Slow to bolt with dark green, glossy, rounded leaves.

  • Eat raw in salads

Life Cycle: Annual

 

Soil Type: Rich, well-draining soil, high in organic matter and compost, with a pH level of 6.0 to 7.0. Does not tolerate acidic soil well.

 

Growing Conditions: Partial shade. Mulching and consistent moisture levels are essential for root temperature control.

 

Planting Depth: Plant at ¼” deep

 

Days to Germination: Slow Germinator, in about 14 days

 

Planting Distance: Broadcast seeds in rows 7” apart.

 

Days to Maturity: 50 days

 

Height when Mature: 6 – 8”

 

Harvest: Pick individual leaves or harvest the entire rosette at the root.

 

Succession Planting: For a continuous supply, sow new seeds every 1 week.
